At Code Club, we think all children should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. Code Club is a key educational programme for The Raspberry Pi Foundation, working to help many more young people learn how to build their ideas with code. A nationwide network of after-school coding clubs for children, our training is designed to give teachers, community educators, volunteers and anyone interested in finding out more about what we do. All the information they need before they start running a Code Club.
The training will cover:
What is Code Club?
Volunteering with Code Club
Working effectively with schools / community venues
An introduction to Scratch / HTML/CSS / Python Code Club projects
Who is the training for?
You do not need to have any prior knowledge of coding to join this session.
"Over the past 2 years, I’ve ran 3 clubs in total in Northern Ireland and loved running each one. It’s great experience for me as I’m considering leading onto teaching after I graduate and feel it has really helped me improve upon many skills, especially my social ability and increased my confidence. I would recommend anyone to become a Code Club volunteer, it’s a fantastic opportunity and a great way to meet people."
Elish, previous Ulster University Computer Science student.
