BASH: Prompting Thought in IT
LESSONS IN CLEAN FAST CODE
A whistle-stop tour of modern hardware capabilities and what is possible when we write clean elegant code. Performance guru Martin Thompson will be sharing lessons he has learned over the last 2 decades building systems with extreme performance requirements.
If you want to better understand how to program for performance then you need to attend this talk.
MARTIN’S BIO
In the last year Martin has been packing in the crowds, and getting great reviews, having spoken at conferences including JavaOne, QCon, TradeTech, GOTO, YOW, Low-Latency Summit, and CodeKen.
He has been dispelling the myths surrounding high-performance computing by reintroducing science and taking things back to basics. Since leaving LMAX, Martin has been helping his clients with performance tuning and providing training on concurrency and low-latency designs.
WHAT IS BASH!?
Bash! is an event for developers organised by developers.
Our aim is to bring interesting and thought-provoking speakers and developers working at the cutting edge of software development to your doorstep.
The focus of Bash will rather unashamedly be on current and upcoming trends in software, but we are realists – where we take this is completely up to you and your feedback.
WHO IS BEHIND BASH!?
Bash! is brought to you by a bunch of guys from Instil Software. We are doing this mostly for the love of software, and will happily sponsor whatever events we can. We are, however, looking for other companies to pitch in. If you would like to sponsor an event, we would be delighted to chat to you but please be aware, there is nothing in it for you other a thank you on the night and the sweet satisfaction of giving something back to the community.
