'#niedchat' allows teachers in Northern Ireland and further afield to meet weekly on Twitter and discuss relevant issues affecting teaching and learning in classrooms.

The group successfully organised Northern Ireland's first TeachMeet, which was hosted at Stranmillis University College, Belfast in March 2012, and plans are afoot for the second event which will run in late 2012.

'#nibeermeet' is an opportunity for the group to meet informally and celebrate a great year of powerful online professional development, and begin the process of planting new ideas for the next school year.
