XCake Belfast, Mobile Apps Meetup, May 2012

Mobile at Ecliptic Labs, Belfast

We have the pleasure to welcome Adam McCarthy (@adamkmccarthy) from Dublin based Tapadoo to talk about Continuous Integration at May's XCake.

Continuous Integration for mobile development.

As developers, time is the most important thing at our disposal. How we spend it during the entire development lifecycle is critical. Do you spend too much time testing? Do you spend any time testing? How about documentation? What about code integration with the rest of the team? What about complex builds with multiple development accounts or customizing web service endpoints depending on build type? What about deployment and distribution? How much time is spent building binaries to give to clients or uploading them third party services or web servers?

What if you didn't need to worry about doing any of these things again?

Two years ago, deep in the skunk works of Tapadoo, we confronted these problems head on with the notion that there was an easier way. We looked at over 30 continuous integration tools and countless more methods of applying various techniques to iOS development. We'll spare you the hassle of doing all the research and lift the lid on how we automated this entire process and what we learned along to way. You won't want to miss it.

XCake is for anyone interested in Mobile.

XCake helps developers meet developers, source designers and resources and do a general show and tell regarding their work.

At XCake you will hear about the mobile topics particularly around the design, development and strategy of building apps based on the experiences of other members.

XCake covers native development for iOS, Android and Windows 7 Mobile, as well as hybrid platforms and the mobile web.

Everyone of all levels are welcome to come.
