AirPOS Ltd develops and sells web services that provide solutions for SME (Small/Medium Enterprise) retailers to manage their electronic point of sale (ePOS) devices, integrate inventory, and provide management control across multiple points of sale, e.g. instore tills/registers, e-commerce web stores and mobile commerce (such as mobile smartphones and kiosks).

We're looking for a talented Rails and JavaScript coder experienced in working with heavily data driven applications who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty by being always on the lookout for new technologies and ways we can improve how we're doing things. You'll need to demonstrate an ability to envision our product to develop insight into how we can best achieve our aims and customer happiness. We want someone who's passionate about what they do as you'll play a key role in application development and strategic platform direction.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Staff and Executive team, you will be a team player who is comfortable with and experienced in working collaboratively and at speed.

The successful person will be based at our Belfast City Centre HQ, remote working is not an option for this role.

Skills

Absolute 1st class HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, Ruby and Rails knowledge

Desire for great code, redundancy and automation

Understanding of TDD, CI and performance monitoring

Exposure to JS MVC concepts (e.g. Spine, Backbone)

Familiarity with NoSQL style databases/key value stores (e.g. CouchDB, Redis, Memcache)

Familiarity with version control (preferably Git)

Bonus Points:

To be deemed a viable candidate for this position, the individual needs to demonstrate the following:

A few years experience in web application development, or an aptitude for such development

Have worked on some really big applications and stacks

Know how to build customer facing features

Demonstrated knowledge of NoSQL style databases (e.g. CouchRest, Resque, Map/Reduces)

Strong knowledge of responsive design and development (e.g. smartphone, tablet and desktop)

Inventive problem solving skills

Comfortable with customer engagement and requirement capture

Passion for truly great design and customer experience

Take pride in your work
